I felt powerless—even though I’m the oldest, even though I’m “educated.” But in war, nothing matters more than survival.

<div>Due to the restrictions imposed on Palestinians in Gaza, we are not allowed to open direct accounts on GoFundMe—this is just one form of the siege we live under every day. Therefore, the donations are sent to my dear friend and first supporter, Lilith Rachel, who manages the campaign on my behalf and receives the funds in her bank account outside Gaza. Once we collect $500, Lilith transfers the amount to me in Gaza using cryptocurrency, which is currently the safest way to receive funds. Then, my friend Mahmoud helps convert the funds into cash here, with a 10% fee to cover the transfer and facilitation costs.
