<div>The Kennedy family is reaching out on behalf of our incredible mother/wife who has recently been diagnosed with the terminal illness ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. This diagnosis has been life-altering for our entire family, and while we’re doing everything we can to stay strong, the reality is that ALS is not only emotionally devastating it’s also physically and financially overwhelming.

<div>She is the most selfless, loving, and resilient woman we know. She’s always been the one to show up for others whether it was staying up late to make sure her kids were okay, making sure everyone was fed and cared for, or being a rock for our family through difficult times. She’s spent her life giving to others, and now, she needs us more than ever.

<div>The Reality of ALS
</div>
<div>ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, eventually robbing a person of their ability to move, speak, eat, and breathe. It is 100% fatal, and There is currently no cure. As the disease progresses, my mom will need significant care, medical equipment, and support that go far beyond what insurance will cover.

<div>We are already seeing changes. She is having more difficulty speaking and swallowing, and her mobility is beginning to decline. These changes are frightening and heartbreaking to witness, but we are doing all we can to keep her comfortable and surrounded by love.
