<div>On July 30th, just six days before his 24th birthday, my little cousin “nephew” Angel was in a devastating car accident that forever changed his life. The crash left him with a severe spinal cord injury — he currently has no feeling below his chest and only limited use of his hands.

<div>Angel recently underwent an extensive surgery to repair damage to his cervical spine. Right now, we’re in a critical waiting period as doctors monitor swelling to determine the extent of his long-term mobility and function.

</div>

<div>What we do know is that the journey ahead will be incredibly tough — physically, emotionally, and mentally.

</div>

<div>Once Angel is stable enough to leave the hospital, he will likely be transferred to a rehabilitation center in Hershey, where he’ll begin the next phase of his recovery. This will involve intense therapy, adaptive training, and long-term care planning.
