My name is Sasha. I am a Jamaican native who resides in the United States. On the land I call home, Hurricane Melissa has left a trail of heartbreak and destruction. Entire neighborhoods have lost everything overnight—homes washed away, power lines down, and families now cut off in desperate need of help. 
 
Many are trapped with no way to let loved ones know they are safe. Basic daily necessities—food, clean water, and shelter—are now out of reach. For some, even communication with family has been lost, and every day brings new uncertainty and fear. 
 
This fundraiser is for my family, friends, and anyone in our community and country who has been affected by this disaster. Your kindness can help provide urgently needed essentials—food, water, clothes, medicine, and a safe place to stay—while we work to rebuild from the ruins. 
 
Funds will go directly to: 

• Supplying emergency food and clean water 

• Providing shelter and helping families rebuild their homes 

• Securing daily basics—like toiletries, clothing, and school supplies for children 

• Supporting people who remain isolated and can’t reach their relatives
