<div>Hi, I’m Helena and I run Moon and Meadow Rescue in the Netherlands.
</div>
<div>I work closely with trusted rescuers and shelters in Dubai, China, and Qatar, helping dogs that have been abandoned, dumped, or left with no safe options. When there’s a chance to get a dog out safely, I organise everything needed to bring them to the Netherlands legally so they can go into foster care and then be matched with the right forever home.
</div>
<div>Rescue is not just “saving” a dog. It’s paperwork, vet care, timing, transport, and real costs that add up fast. And while adoption fees help, they rarely cover the true cost of getting a dog to safety, especially with international rescues.
</div>
<div>That’s why I’m asking for support.
</div>
<div>What your donation will be used for
</div>
<div>Dogs (Dubai, China, Qatar → Netherlands)
</div>
<div>Veterinary and legal requirements
</div>
<div>• Vaccinations (including rabies)
</div>
<div>• Microchip
</div>
<div>• Health check and any required treatments
</div>
<div>• EU pet passport and paperwork
</div>
<div>Travel and transport
</div>
<div>• Flight costs and airline pet fees (varies by route and dog size)
</div>
<div>• IATA travel crate
</div>
<div>• Transport to the airport and handling costs
</div>
<div>• Import related fees and admin (where applicable)
</div>
<div>Care after arrival in foster
</div>
<div>• Food and essentials (beds, leads, harnesses, bowls)
</div>
<div>• Flea and worm treatment
</div>
<div>• Emergency vet care when needed
</div>
<div>Horses (ongoing care)
</div>
<div>I’m also responsible for horses who need consistent care and stability.
</div>
<div>• Boarding is €250 per horse per month, which includes food and daily care.
</div>
<div>Typical rescue costs (so you can see where the money goes)
</div>
<div>Every case is different, but to give a realistic picture:
</div>
<div>Per dog (typical range depending on route, size, and requirements)
</div>
<div>• Vet care + passport + paperwork: often €150 to €500+
</div>
<div>• Crate and travel requirements: often €80 to €300+
</div>
<div>• Flight / transport: can be several hundred euros or more
</div>
<div>Per horse
</div>
<div>• Boarding: €250 per month per horse
</div>
<div>If you’ve ever wondered why rescues ask for donations even when dogs are adopted, this is why. The costs are front-loaded, urgent, and constant.
</div>
<div>Where the money goes
</div>
<div>Donations will be used for:
</div>
<div>• Dogs currently in my care in the Netherlands
</div>
<div>• Dogs being prepared for travel from Dubai, China, and Qatar
</div>
<div>• Support for the partner shelters and rescuers doing the hard work on the ground (when I’m funding specific dogs from their care)
</div>
<div>• Horse boarding costs so I can keep them safe and stable
</div>
<div>Transparency
</div>
<div>I will post updates as dogs move through the process (vet visits, paperwork, flights, arrivals) and share receipts where possible. Every euro is used for rescue and care.
</div>
<div>If you can donate, thank you.
</div>
<div>If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser helps more than you know.
</div>
<div>You’re not just helping an animal travel. You’re giving them a real second chance.
