<div><strong>What happened to the family?</strong>
</div>
<div>Youssef: “We are a family of 6 people. We lived in a house, and we had everything. In one day, everything disappeared, and the house was bombed. I was inside it, and I came out injured. I recovered within two weeks. Seven members of my father’s family were martyred, and we were displaced after that to this house. We, the general public in Gaza, do not have everything we need. You know.“
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong style="font-family:inherit;font-size:1rem;">Who am I am why am I doing this?</strong>
</div>
<div>Hello, my name is Luisa Brune. I am a social worker from Berlin and I am starting this fundraiser for Youssef and his family in Gaza. I am writing this text after speaking for about 45 minutes with Youssef Abu Shawish and his sister Nagham. Even though I have no words for the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza that has been going on for two years, I still feel the need to find the right words for Youssef and his family. Because these words can decide whether they can stay in their house and buy food and medicine for their brother Imad, who has autism.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It is not the first time that people from Gaza have contacted me on Instagram. In most cases, I sent some money myself, as much as I could afford. This time, Youssef asked me to create a GoFundMe. I cannot say no to him – not after two years of genocide, where we have all become witnesses of a humanitarian disaster, while German politics and media stay silent and inactive. If nothing happens on these levels, then it is on us, civil society, to show people in Gaza some dignity and humanity.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Who is the Shawish family?</strong>
</div>
<div>Youssef currently lives with his mother Susan, his father Ahmed, his sister Nagham, and his brothers Imad and Abdul Rahman in Deir al-Balah.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What is the money for?</strong>
</div>
<div>$500 (rent)
</div>
<div>$350 (medicine for Ahmed and Susan)
</div>
<div>$200 (medicine for Imad)
</div>
<div>$600 (food) (ca. $20 per day )
</div>
<div>_____________________
</div>
<div><strong>1650 $ per month (round about 1407 Euro)</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As mentioned, Imad has autism and needs several medicines like Debakin, Resberdone, Holanz, and Leponix. Both mother and father also suffer from chronic high blood pressure, which also needs regular medication. The prices for medicine are extremely high in Gaza, as you all know.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>The family urgently needs $500 in the next 7–8 days to pay their rent. If not, they will lose their place and be back on the street.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How does the money reach the family?</strong>
</div>
<div>I will manage the money until the end of the fundraiser and then send it step by step to Youssef, through the PayPal account of his friend, so he can buy what they need. To keep everything as transparent as possible, I will upload screenshots of the transfers, and I will also ask Youssef to send me photos of the bought medicines, which I will share here.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why should I donate?</strong>
</div>
<div>For two years, we have been hearing the numbers of people killed by Israel.
</div>
<div>But we do not mention their names.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For two years, we have been hearing the numbers of people who have been seriously injured, who have lost arms or legs.
</div>
<div>But we do not mention their names.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For two years, we have been hearing the numbers of people who have lost their homes, their jobs, and their futures.
</div>
<div>But we do not mention their names.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Whether it is the Shawish family or another family, we must not stop mentioning their names and forgetting them. Because every single life in Gaza—and also in the West Bank—has the right to a life free from harm.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please support me in making a difference in the lives of Youssef, Susan, Ahmed, Nagham, Imad, and Abdul Rahman.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.

</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Wer ist die Familie Shawish? </strong>
</div>
<div>Youssef lebt aktuell mit seiner Mutter, Susan, seinem Vater, Ahmed, seiner Schwester Nagham, Imad und Abdul Rahman in Deir al-Balah.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Was ist der Familie passiert? </strong>
</div>
<div>Youssef: „We are a family of 6 people. You know.“
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Wofür wird das Geld gebraucht? </strong>
</div>
<div>$500 (Miete)
</div>
<div>$350 (Medikamente für die Familie)
</div>
<div>$200 (Medikamente für den Bruder)
</div>
<div>$600 (Essen) (ca. $20 pro Tag)
</div>
<div>_____________________
</div>
<div><strong>1650 $ pro Monat also ca. 1407 Euro.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</strong>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Wieso sollte ich spenden? </strong>
</div>
</div>
<div>Doch wir nennen nicht ihre Namen.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div>Doch wir nennen nicht ihre Namen.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div>Doch wir nennen nicht ihre Namen.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
