<div>Typhoon is a student team from Alamanda K-9 College and Homestead Senior Secondary College in Melbourne's west. Five students. Two government schools. One shot at the world stage.

<div>For the past three years, Typhoon has competed in STEM Racing, an global program where students design, manufacture and race miniature Formula 1-style cars while managing sponsorship, branding, project management and presentations. The team are 2024 &amp; 2025 Victorian State Champions, 2025 &amp; 2026 Australian National Finalists and this year, Typhoon have received an invitation to represent Australia at the 2026 STEM Racing World Finals in Singapore in October.

<div>The World Finals bring together top teams from across the globe and from Australia. For these students, it is a chance to test the past three years of work against the best in the world. This is something no classroom can replicate, it is like they are managing a business.

<div>Getting there however costs approximately $70,000, covering flights, accommodation, competition fees, engineering development, equipment and uniforms. As students from two government schools, that is a significant amount to raise.
