Fighting Blindness for Avery

Donation protected
Avery was diagnosed at the age of 2 with Retinitis Pigmentosa, an inherited macular degenerative eye disease that has slowly but steadily stolen his eye sight. Avery is now 10 and legally blind. He retains some vision but can see very little. There is currently very little that can be done for children and adults that have RP. Right now visual aids and mobility training is really all that can be done. Unfortunately our health insurance does not cover mobility training or guide dog training.
We have managed to get Avery into a low vision specialist located in Ohio at Ohio State University' s National Children's Hospital so that he can be seen by doctor's that specialize in eye diseases in children. Avery currently goes to the Children's Eye Institute in Savannah, Georgia. The cost of traveling, visual aids, and training for his guide dog far exceeds what our insurance covers.
Avery is a very smart and loving little boy but the ongoing struggle to adapt the ever diminishing loss of his vision has been very difficult for him. Even with the support of his family and his four brothers Avery has had a very hard time dealing with his vision loss. Anything that anyone would be capable of donating would be appreciated.
