Tranent Colts - Rwanda 2020

After a successful trip in 2016 we are pleased to announce that Tranent Colts FC are going back to Rwanda in February 2020 along with a delegation from the SFA, Hearts FC and other Platinum status clubs from the South East Region.
Tranent Colts main focus during this visit is to spend as much time coaching street kids football and further strengthen our links with the many organisations we visited in 2016. We will also be taking old Club kit, including boots from the Club’s boot bank, to distribute to the children in Rwanda.
In addition we will be visiting the Faith and Hope school within Kigali to not only provide football sessions but also form a link with the school to help further develop education opportunities through sporting activities. We will also be revisiting a school for disabled kids to deliver interactive sporting sessions.
New to us on this visit will be an overnight trip to Bisisero, this is a town that has shut itself away since the genocide as they lost over 50,000 people during the massacres. Again we will be interacting with the younger generation here through the power of football.
We are appealing to everyone within our Community to help us with our fundraising efforts to ensure this can and will happen. As you can appreciate, there are significant costs involved and we want to assist the volunteers with the expense of this trip (travel, accommodation, inoculations, etc).
The primary theme of the trip may be football, but the significance for the communities in Tranent, East Lothian and Rwanda goes far beyond this.
