Hi we are Christie and Mandy, passionate early childhood educators. We are raising money to travel to Vanuatu so we can help improve the educational environment and resources for children in remote island villages. We are planning this trip with support from Remote Island Aid.
Raising Dough ($) for Play
Hi we are Christie and Mandy, passionate early childhood educators. We are raising money to travel to Vanuatu so we can help improve the educational environment and resources for children in remote island villages. We are planning this trip with support from Remote Island Aid.
The money donated will be used to buy much needed educational supplies such as books, art supplies and sporting equipment. A portion of the money raised will also be used to enhance their educational environments by purchasing desks, chairs and funding building maintenance.We will be buying the desks, chairs and other educational supplies from stores in Vanuatu so we can support the local economy.
Below is a video of the Aore kindergarten in Vanuatu and as you can see it has very little equipment and the building is in need of maintenance.
After visiting Vanuatu, we plan to foster an ongoing relationship with the visited kindergartens and our early childhood education centre back in Australia, by keeping in touch via letters and pictures from the children.
Through this experience we hope to not only support and develop the educational facilities but also grow as early childhood educators in the process.
