Whizzard's Hospice Needs

Donation protected
Whizzard came to Oregon from an overcrowded shelter in Los Angeles through a partnership between Willamette Humane Society and ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). He is an incredibly sweet eleven-year-old Chow-Chow mix.  After arriving at WHS, it was discovered that this gentle soul is in the beginning stages of renal failure. Whizzard needed a quiet and loving "hospice" home to spend his last weeks or months. Who would adopt a dog knowing that their time together would not be long? One of WHS' volunteers, Melita Vanderbeck stepped up and took Whizzard home. He has settled in comfortably with Melita's other two dogs and the sparkle in his eye shows how contented he is in his forever home.

Because of Whizzard's medical issues, he needs to be on a prescription diet. His food plus his medications cost over $200 a month. Whizzard's friends have decided to set up this fund to help Melita with his expenses. We are so grateful to Melita for giving Whizzard the quiet, calm, and caring home that he needs now and what to help them. Whizzard has won the hearts of everyone who has met this wonderful boy.
