Brittany's Moving Out Fund
Donation protected
Hello everyone! My name is Brittany although many of you probably know me best as Hanabi. I'm currently 18 years old and a freshman in college as a International Studies major. Most of you probably know me as a singing, dancing, cosplaying, dorky geek who attends conventions. That is definitely who I am, but up until this spring semester, I was a student-athlete who was playing volleyball for my school under full scholarship. Due to academic issues, I've been unable to play for my team and will no longer be under scholarship starting next semester.
After much thought, I have decided to no longer pursue playing volleyball collegiately. This is due to many factors mentally, physically and I no longer want to take this path in life. Sadly, my parents are in complete disaggreement with my decision to discontinue volleyball activites while still attending my current college and have casted me out as a quitter, burden to the family, and all around disappointment. As said by my father, since I have made this choice, I am to move to South Carolina (both of my parent's home state), attend a college of his choice, and work a job of his choice. Due to this, I have decided to take my own route in life and leave the household. I'm tired of living for my parents' hopes and dreams and would like to start living for my own goals and aspirations. I plan to apply for any scholarships and student loans possible for me and begin working to provide for myself from now on.
Due to my scholarship, I was able to use the money I recieved from my Florida Bright Futures scholarship as extra money to save. Although I recieved this money, my parents immediately took it upon themselves to deposit it into their bank account (originally to give me money when I had a good reason to use it) and don't plan on giving me the rest of it. I don't have much money as of now and I'm currently selling some of my possessions just to gain a little bit of money for now.
I've started this fund so that I will be able to take care of myself for a little bit during after this semester is over. I dislike asking others for money since I know all of you are trying to save for your own needs and I know that many of you are college students who haven't had the luxury of a full scholarship trying to get by as well. Any donation is extremely appreciated. If you can't donate, please share this with others who may be able to help. If all goes well throughout the rest of college, I hope to attend graduate school to achieve a higher degree.
Thank you to for taking the time out to read this and thank you for any donations given! Even just dollar is extremely helpful.
