Coronavirus - SHIELD LA - Face Shield Project
Our goal as a team has always been to scale as quickly as possible so that we can provide more shields to those on the front lines.
Today, we’ve reached a big milestone towards this goal by being accepted to work with the non-profit fiscal sponsor, Jumpstart Labs. This new platform will allow for us to attract larger donations from grants, foundations and charities. All donations will be tax exempt. Having access to these donations will optimize our supply chain to minimize the cost per shield and expand our network to increase our influence. This way each dollar will go further towards helping unprotected health care workers and our team is very excited about this transition.
We are fully confident that Jumpstart Labs is the right organization to improve our impact and their interests heavily align with ours!
Thanks to all of YOUR contributions we have been able to fabricate thousands of shields and are constantly sending them to hospitals all over the country and beyond. This initial push not only allowed us to prototype, fabricate, and validate the design, but it will also send over 7,000 shields to health care workers and created a momentum that we hope you continue following!
Because we are shifting to this relationship with a non-profit organization we are announcing that the GoFundMe campaign is closed, but we are still accepting donations towards our mission through our website . All of the money that has been donated thus far will still go, as promised, towards the fabrication and distribution of shields and we will take no profit.
Moving forward all donations will continue to support Shield LA. Our fiscal sponsor, Jumpstart Labs will facilitate the tax deductible donations in order to work with foundations and charitable organizations.
We can’t thank you enough for all of your support! Please sign up on our website to keep receiving updates and uplifting images of our progress!
Sincerely,
The Shield LA Team
