North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association Arena
North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association is moving this summer to a new location still in Maple Ridge at 12591 209th Street. While this is a breathtaking property with gorgeous fields - we currently only have a barn shell! We need to build an arena with cover, paddocks with fences and gaits, stalls for 8 - 10 horses, and continue to provide feed, hay, vet and farrier costs, etc, etc!
Since 1970’s our programs have provided equine-assisted therapy to children and adults with diverse abilities such as cerebral palsy, down syndrome, PTSD, fetal alcohol syndrome and autism. Our riders gain confidence, improve physically, mentally, emotionally and develop meaningful relationships in their lives. Parents tell us that their children experience ‘normalization’ and feel more confident while adults find ‘joy’ in the freedom of movement. The bonds between our riders and our therapy horses enrich their lives, and this is where ‘miracles’ happen.
Our riders range in age from 3 - 35 on average, but our Senior Stretch & Strengthen program has seniors!
Thank you for your support for our life-enrichment mission! We currently reside in Maple Ridge BC and our new home will still be in Maple Ridge on the beautiful property of the Hampton Heritage Farm.
