Emma's Transition Fund currently Homeless

My name is Emma. I was assigned male at birth. I've always known in my head that something about me was not what was expected. I am Transgender Male to Female.

2021 was a year of self love and discovery for me. New Years Eve is the day I came out to my wife after 11 years of marriage. I was terrified. I handed her my phone with a note typed out. “I am transgender. I scheduled an appointment.” My wife barely took time to react before telling me we were in this together. That night I felt like I could finally breathe for the first time. I came out to everyone in my life by the end of January. I found out I am autistic and dyslexic over the summer. My hair wasn’t even past my ears yet and I was wearing a dress at work. I was terrified of reactions but being my true self feels so liberating. Most people in my life have been nothing but kind through it all. Most things in my life are honestly really great but dysphoria has continued to worsen. Insurance will be covering the majority of my gender affirmation surgery. I will be seeing Dr. Whitehead in Miami at Restore Medical. I will need to cover my deductible as well as costs for a week in the hotel near the hospital and a month or more out of work. I appreciate any amount of donation or share of my story.
