Why was this Page set up? After reading the news stories about this case I wanted to see if there was anything I could do to help Mr. Hinton. I live in Huntersville, NC and I do not know him personally but I admire his courage and faith. I hope he can use these donations to get settled and enjoy the rest of his life as a free man!
What is the Background? Anthony Ray Hinton of Alabama was wrongly convicted in February 1985 for two separate killings. He had been on death row for 30 years. With the help of his attorneys at Equal Justice Initiative, the charges were dropped and as of Friday, April 3, he is a free man. No one can give Mr. Hinton back those 30 years but with your help he can start fresh and enjoy his new life.

Where is your Money Going? The money is not going into any personal account of mine and I have no access to your credit card information. All of this is secure via Go Fund Me. The donations are sent by Go Fund Me directly to the bank account set up by Mr. Hinton's attorney on his behalf. Ramona Thornton who is listed, is one of Mr. Hinton's attorneys at EJI and is coordinating receipt and distribution of donated funds directly to Mr. Hinton.
