Cancer can’t stop this Cowboy. Unfortunately, the medical bills, recovery and loss of income will slow him down. With his amazing wife and daughter working around the clock to support, love and care or him, this family needs our help. Nobody we know has more ‘best friends’ than Cody Wood, so let’s demonstrate how supportive we all are.
We can’t take the pain away, we can’t fix the problem, we can’t be there for all the sleepless nights. What we can do is more than say “it will be okay”. Let’s all come together and show our support for this wonderful father, husband, son, brother, friend, coworker and his family.
After months of health issues, surgery and extensive testing, Cody was diagnosed on 1/27/2015, with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Ewing’s Sarcoma is typically a bone cancer that presents in childhood and adolescents. Cody’s form of Ewing’s Sarcoma is different as it is not typically seen in adults, nor is it in his bone. It was in his intestines, colon and gall bladder. Of course the rarity of his particular form of cancer makes immediate treatment necessary, complicated and aggressive. He will have surgery the first week of February and will begin Chemotherapy on 2/9/2015, which is projected to go for 34 weeks.
Cody and his family have had little time to prepare for this life altering event. Cody will be unable to work for the duration of treatment. Joey works full time and they both care for their daughter Cora. This is why our help is so important. Easing at least a small portion of the financial stress and strain will help them with medical expenses, transportation, childcare expenses and household bills.
Let’s all come together as one big Cody community and show this family how much we love and care for them.
