Fund Raising For Aunty Bunmi

Donation protected

A friend of mine, Ms Bunmi Adesoiye, suffering from Anorectal cancer is currently undergoing treatment. She's had surgery, radiotherapy and was due to receive chemotherapy last year but didn't have consistent courses due to lack of funds.

She came from Africa to receive this treatment and it's costing her an arm and a leg (she's sold all she has so far, spent all her life savings and retirement nest from past investments) to meet the costs associated with her treatment. She now has 6 cycles of treatment remaining.

She's now decided to go back to Africa to save costs, but needs to buy enough medication to last her for 3 months - she's back in the UK briefly after that.

She needs to raise £6000 for the first 3 cycles in the next week, to pay for the medication (she just told me this the week before she was due to travel!).

£6000 pays for 3 cycles. She needs 6 cycles. She also needs interim scans and blood tests and doctor's appointments each of which costs ££.

**But £6000 for 3 cycles is a start.**

This is the only way I can think of, to help her raise the money on time. She leaves for Africa  anytime now (was due to leave on July 31 but due to some delays will have to leave in the next couple weeks) so we need to do this for her NOW.

I'm looking for at least 300 people to each donate £22. That will help her hit target plus cover gofundme's 5% interest.

Or just 60 people to each donate £100.

Or 600 people to each donate £10.

Please friends, let us act FAST so she can get her meds on time.

I truly appreciate your help.

I can relate to her plight of having finances diminished during cancer treatment because I too had a diagnosis of cancer in 2011 (breast cancer). At the time, I was self employed and so didn't get paid if I wasn't working. I was off work for several months while I got treated and recouperated... and my finances took a serious blow during that time. Thankfully my brother stepped up and took care of everything.

Aunty Bunmi's family lives in Nigeria and they've exhausted their resources also (paying in ££ when you earn Naira - is quite difficult), so now she's got nothing and nobody else to help her.

So I've chosen to step up to help her. Only, I can't do this on my own at this time, hence my asking you to please chip in.

Aunty B is not the only one in this position, who needs help, but she's one person and that's a start. Imagine if you could contribute to making a difference in the LIFE of another person, even if it's just one person.

So PLEASE do what you can.

Donate and rally round 5-10 of your friends to do the same.

Thank you!
