The Nixon Christopher Fund

My baby nephew Nixon Christopher Rose was born 10 weeks too early on June 20th with major heart complications weighing only 1lbs 13oz. He has been a fighter since day one getting through ups and downs, gains and setbacks, medical scares and miracles and when he was released from the hospital at the end of August we thought the worst was over until his open heart surgery at 9lbs. It turns out that we were wrong. A few weeks ago he was admitted to the hospital with Congestive Heart Failure and its starting to affect his other organs and just last week he came down with pneumonia. He was transfered to PCH (Phoenix Childrens Hospital) where he had his surgery on November 12th. The good news is that he made it through the surgery and will be able to grow up and be the amazing little boy he was born to be, but due to all the time spent in the hospital and his surgery his parents are dealing with major medical bills.

They are doing everything they can to take care of Nixon and his big sister Baylie, but juggling a four year old, a sick baby, work, school and hospital visits can be hard. Lyndsie had to take a break from her studies to becoming a Medical Assistant so that she could spend her time taking care of Nixon and Baylie while Robert is working two jobs just to make ends meet. Before Nixon was admitted back into the hospital they were staying in a one-bedroom apartment that they shared with another family and because of all the medical equiptment that Nixon had to be hooked up to they mostly stayed in the bedroom.


Lyndsie and Robert didn't come to me for help, but we all realize what a tough spot they're in and we can't just sit here and do nothing. Thats why I founded ''The Nixon Christopher Fund'' where the goal is to raise a little bit of money to help them maybe get their own place or to cover some of the medical bills they are dealing with. Any donation is accepted and we will forever be thankful to everyone that has helped out in this trying time.
