Operation Henkaku

I have been accepted to partake in Operation Henkaku, for the 6th season of the dolphin defense campaign in Taiji this season.
The dolphin hunt in Japan begins in September and will carry through March, where more then a thousand migrating dolphins are driven and trapped into the infamous killing cove in Taiji. These dolphins, and some small whales are tragically slaughtered, and will slowly bleed out or drown in the blood of their loved ones ...others get dragged to the butcherhouse to be processed for meat (which is full of contaminance of murcury) to be consumed by humans. Some of the dolphins that have no scratches or scars visible scars in appearance will be kept and sold to small marine parks(about 1 in every 17) and live in the unsustanable living condition in these marine facilities. They must live in confidment while well aware that every member of their family was murdered right before their eyes.
Dolphins exhibit strong social bonds within their pods, they are loyal and will stay with ill or injured members of their pods, helping them to the surface to breath when they are weak or unable. These are some of the most intellegent creatures among us, they love and they greive just as we humans do.

Regulations are ignored, and Sea Shepherd will have a dedicated team from all around the world steaking out the cove from day end to document, and keep this issue in a spotlight for the world to see.

A lot of people are very unaware what goes on in this killing cove, just because it is out of sight does not justify it being out of mind. Become aware and help to expose this crutial issue.

I am currently on Operation Jairo, a sea turtle defense campaign until the end of September, and will be attending Operation Henkaku a few months after. This is all strictly volunteer work that I dedicate my time and all my heart into, none of the donations are going to Sea Shepherd. Donations will be contributed to my airfare toTaiji, and to help with room and board. This is a serious issue, and I do not percieve it as a vacation. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated.
