Lydia’s Trip To World Skate Games 2024

Hi,

My name is Lydia and I am 18years old. I’ve been selected to play roller hockey for the Junior Women’s team at the world skate games which are being held in Italy in September 2024. I was lucky to be selected to play in Belgium last year in the European championships which was an amazing experience.

Roller hockey receives very little funding especially women’s roller hockey. The trip will cost approximately £1500. This is an excellent opportunity to play roller hockey in an international setting. I’m off to university in Lincoln in September to study Dance and hope to pursue a career in sports coaching so this opportunity will help develop me as a player and as a coach. I already help coach junior hockey at Rotherham Blackhawks sessions and help out looking after the little dancers at my dance school Janet Mitchell Dance on a Saturday morning.
