This GoFundMe account was set up because of recent events. Jake Mcelfresh, commonly known as "Front Porch Step," who has a known history of inappropriate misconduct with several underage girls is challenging his former girlfriend in court. Jake Mcelfresh's ex-girlfriend Autumn Lavis spoke out against his behaviors and shared a detailed account of her experience.
Autumn provided proof of him online admitting to these behaviors, and now Jake is attacking her in court. He filed on the premise that she was "slandering" him, and that she ruined his "image." He's taking no responsibility for his actions and is putting the blame on her. After completely turning Autumn's life upside down, similar to his prior statement, Jake is playing victim. When, in fact, Autumn was very tactful in speaking out. She wants to stand up for the girls he abused and emotionally manipulated, and she wants to prevent further girls from enduring that fate.
Autumn is choosing to defend herself in court the first week in August. This project is to help her raise money for a lawyer to fight back against Jake and his lawyers. Jake is also trying to make her pay all court costs. On top of that, she has to fly out of the state, resulting in a huge financial burden. She is also unable to continue to pay for her therapy because of this.
The court date is approaching soon (in less than two weeks) and we need you to act fast.
If you are upset by the situation and you want to stand up for our music scene, especially to make it a safe place, please donate to the cause. Anything helps. This GoFundMe account will remain open for other victims of Jake Mcelfresh's if they wish to seek justice of their own. Any funds left over will be used to help pay for therapy of the victims and/or donated to a non-profit organization.
