Fire Recovery Fund

This morning a huge fire broke out  and has displaced a huge part of the community. We are looking to rebuild at least 7 homes and would really appreciate anything you can do to help. This is a very sad and serious moment and we have seen a huge family come together to support these people. Whatever you can do, we would be most grateful.
There are 12 displaced groups of people that we are raising money for. Each person that is affected will receive an equal share of what ever we can raise to ensure they have 1st and last months rent covered as well as renters insurance for at least a year. I am a local in the neighbourhood and have lived around these people for 7 years, I just want to ensure they have the basis tools they need to get back on their feet. We have done clothing drives,  and a local fundraiser also that has bumped us up. by splitting equally I feel it is the most diplomatic approach to fair treatment for all and the best way to start this next chapter in their lives. Our Local MP will be given cheques to give to each of the displaced tenants. 
I will filter it through my business account and cover the taxes myself as a charitable donation. I am a local chef and community advocate and have been an active member of this community for over 7 years.
