Rhylee's Road to Recovery

Rhylee is a 6 year old girl, who was in a kindergarten class that I taught last year. She is one of the sweetest and happiest little girls that I've ever met and is adored by all who meet her! She’s enthusiastic about pretty much everything and you can’t help but smile when you’re around her! All of these reasons (and many more) are why I wanted to set up this page and help this amazing little girl and her incredible family during this extremely difficult time.
Below is Rhylee’s story:
Rhylee had been a little off balance (for a few weeks) and had been having headaches that were causing some vomiting (for about a week). Her mom brought her to the pediatrician on Saturday, March 19, 2016 and they were given a referral for a cat scan for the following week. On Sunday morning (the 20th), Rhylee was doing her homework and her mom noticed that she was closing her left eye to look at it. She asked Rhylee why she was doing that and she said that she was seeing double. Her mom immediately brought her to the ER at All Children’s Hospital and they did the cat scan right away and found a mass, fluid and swelling on the brain. Surgery was then scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, 2016 @ 9 AM. They were able to remove most of the mass, but had to leave a small piece because it was attached to the brain stem. They believe it is a Medulloblastoma, but will know for sure once the pathology report comes back. Rhylee will most likely need chemotherapy to tackle the small amount that had to be left behind.
Rhylee’s parents will do all that they can to make sure that they are by her side throughout this entire process, which makes the possibility of working their full time jobs very difficult. Rhylee also has an older brother and a younger sister at home that need to be cared for. Your donations will help with medical bills, as well as everyday living (food, gas, other bills, etc).
