hi..
Firstly you may not know me but im a mum to a wonderful little boy called Liam who is 4 yrs old..
I'm asking for help even if in a tiny way.
He is my world and has had a rough start to life being born so premature and losing his twin sister Tia..
Liam went on to be diagnosed as profoundly deaf and also to have quadriplegic cerebral palsy.
Liam cannot walk, crawl, or stand but rolls everywhere. his biggest joy
is water he laughs,giggles and manages to use his limbs as if he had no
problems so hydrotherapy is not only fun but brilliant therapy.
For the last year i have been fundraising on a local scale to get items
of equipment that Liam requires i.e specialist car seat, specialist
trike.
Last on his list is our biggest challenge and thats to get to
£10,000 for the hydrotherapy pool we have been offered at cost price
with chances of more discount nearer the time from manufacturers we have
a sky dive event happening at the end of surgery towards this so good
start.
Also on the 31st july 2012 Liam has just been fitted with his
first cochlear implant in his right ear and american design called
Advanced Bionics which is a waterproof device that will give him the joy
of sound in water as well as everywhere else.
Becouse we live
in a rural part of norfolk there is the hydrotherapy service out there
but it is a lot of traveling and only offers a half hr session a week
which is not enough to give Liam the best chance of progressing to
standing and walking and generally having the best life he can.
