A Prosthetic Leg for Reda

Donation protected
Hello  to all the animla lovers out there. Some wonderful people are trying to raise money to help a dog that was surrendered to a Municiple Animal Shelter in East TN. Reda came into the shelter as an owner surrender. She is a beautiful 3 year old Chocolate Lab that is full of energy but has something that is holding her back. When Reda was surrendered it was found that she has previously had her foot amputated. Noone is sure of when the amputation took place but it was apparent that it had not been cared for nor had it healed properly. Some wonderful people decided that they would like to help Reda out and see what needed to be done to make her life better and for her foot to heal.

A trip to University of Tennessee Veterinary School and an examination from Dr. Marti Drum was the next step for Reda. After examination it was found that Reda's bones in her paw were exposed and that the flesh was not healing, therefore it was continuing to bleed. It  was found after a further look that Reda would be a great candidate for a prosthetic leg. Reda was then sedated and a cast mold of her leg was made. Until the prosthetic can be made they will be using Tuff Foot on the stump of the amputation to keep it from bleeding and and getting her used to a harness that will hold the prosthetic in place.

There will be multiple steps in Reda's journey. The next step will be to raise the initial $1400 as soon as possible for the prosthetic. This will be made at :

K-9 Orthotics & Prosthetics, Inc
located in Beaver Bank, NS, Canada

Once her prostetic has been made and shipped to UT Vet School then the rehabilitation will begin. Her life will be filled with learning to wear it, walk with it and adjusting to her new life and limb.

If you would like to help this group of people raise funds for Reda and help her heal please donate and share. Just sparing a few dollars will help us make our way to our goal. If you cannot donate then please share. The more people that see this cause the better chance we have of raising the money.

Reda sure will be a happy girl once she can learn to run and play again. Chasing a ball and playing fetch is something on her bucket list.
