Save our TorC Recreation Center

This fine building was given to the people of Hot Springs, NM (now Truth or Consequences) by  President Franklin D Roosevelt in the 1930's as a Community Center, for which it has functioned until this year, when 5 City Commissioners voted to "take"  the Lee Belle Johnson Senior Recreation Center for a commercial Spaceport America  bus depot and retail shop. A group of concerned citizens  petitioned for, and suceeded in getting, a referendum to return the facility to the people  and preserve it as a Community Center for the future. We seek funds to pay for campaign materials and postage to insure victory, through the ballot box, (not backroom deals) in the face of, opposition by city officials, and recent Police actions designed to intimidate those who are fed up  with  paying  for a Billionaire's Playground. Please Help us preserve this facility for;  current, and all future residents and visitors. The election is set for Sept. 22, 2015.
