Hello Everyone! So here is the skinny: I am going back to Bali to do some amazing things and need your help to make it really special. My dream is to do a little something for several different places, to make as much of an impact for as many people as I can.
I have made some wonderful friends over there, including an amazing organization: OceanMimic. This inspiring group has organized amazing beach clean-up crews almost every Sunday since their development last November. But they need more help and that's where I come in. I will also be spending much needed time assisting at several orphanages in Bali; one of which I will actually be staying at for a few days.
Each year, more than 8 million tons of plastic enters our oceans.
My travel and lodging expenses are paid for and I will be there a month and during that time I will be staying with my friend, Ms. Vara and her family.
The funds would go for some of the following:
Clean up supplies ( gloves, bags & beverages)
Fuel for transportation to a legitimate landfill Basic medical supplies (thermometers, Band-Aid’s, & itch cream )
School supplies (uniforms, pencils & markers).
I will mostly be volunteering picking up trash (plastics) from the picturesque beaches of Bali. Coordinating with the young women of Ocean Mimic, I will be going back as an ambassador of good works. I am going to be a leader. I am going to be able to give back to Bali.
I will be engaging with the local culture and possibly obtaining my own transportation to more effectively use my limited time.
Our dollar goes so far there ($100 = 1.4 Million Rupiah) and just a few little things can make big differences in someone’s life. And who doesn't feel good about helping others?
Example, $.20 cents will purchase a reusable trash bag, $5 will provide rice for a month for a family of 4 and $15 will purchase a complete school uniform for a child and they need 2 to be eligible to attend school.
Education: a privilege that we can take for granted here, is such a precious gift and being able to assist the children in these orphanages in bettering their lives through learning is an opportunity that I would love to be able to offer, with your assistance.
