Hailey is a beautiful, smart, sassy 5 year old little girl with a heart of gold and a smile that can light up any room. On Saturday April 9, 2016 our children were playing in the backyard as they typically do. We were scheduled to have a cookout at 2pm but never did we imagine the devastation that was about to occur. Hailey was running up the yard along the fenceline that housed our former neighbors Doberman that she had left behind. For 2 years my children have ran this fenceline around the yard without consequence. Until this day. While Hailey was running up the yard the Doberman lunged over the fence biting her causing a 3.5 inch laceration to the top of her forehead that went to the skull and 4 puncture wounds on her face. She was transported to Vanderbilt Children's at Williamson Medical via Ambulance were we awaited the arrival of Plastic Surgeon Dr. Brought. He placed a total of 42 stitches in the head and face of our beautiful little angel.
Although, eventually, her scars will heal she will be left with the emotional trauma that this tramatic event has caused. The money raised will help us with medical funds as well as hiring an attorney to pursue legal action against the abandoning owner of the dog. If the Doberman would not have been left without food or water for a week our sweet baby girl would not have had to endure the pain of a hungry bite.
