Save Stormy!

Hi,

My name is Stormy and I am a 1 year old Siberian Husky who loves to wag my tail and play all day long.  Unfortunately, I don't really have the energy to play anymore and I just don't feel good.

I have a problem called Ectopic Ureters.  That means the tubes that run from my kidneys to my bladder go straight to my urinary track instead. I can't hold my pee-pee and I have to wear a diaper all the time.

Now, I wouldn't mind the diaper but the problem is that nasty old bacteria is constantly able to worm its way up into my kidney and bladder and I have an almost constant UTI and bladder infection which is REALLY painful for me.

The doctor told my mom my that I need to have one of my kidneys removed because it's been damaged really badly. My other one needs to have the tube moved back to my bladder so I can hold my pee-pee (hopefully) and not have to wear this bulky uncomfortable diaper anymore, but the surgery costs a lot of money and my mommy says that I can't work because I'm sick and she just can't afford it even though she want to more than anything in the world!

My mommy taught me to 'beg' for biscuits but she says it's not OK  to beg for money, so instead I am asking all of you nice people out there if you could donate a few dollars toward making me feel better.  I sure would appreciate your help because my mommy is very worried and she wants me to live a very long and happy life.

STORMY~

Now a bit of Stormy's back story.

We found a man in a trailer park selling husky puppies on to anyone would pay for them. He said he was a reputable dog breeder but he was not.  We were going to turn away and not purchase a dog from the man but after seeing their living conditions we couldn't just leave Stormy there with him.  He had her, her sistier, her mother, and her father trapped in tiny little cages all pressed in together.  They were filthy and covered with their own feces and urine. While we watched, the man let the two puppies (already 4 months old) out of the cage to run around.  One of them snatched some chicken bones out of the garbage and began to eat them while the man watched.  Of course I said something to him but he didn't seem to think that was a big deal.  The dogs were all obviously underfed and in poor condition.

We did not know exactly how poor the condition was until we got Stormy to the vet the next morning.  She had a UTI that was so bad that it was poisoning her, she was malnourished, and had never had any vaccinations or been wormed.  She was full of worms and other nasty things.  We spent every penny we had saved on vet bills and experts until we finally found someone who could pinpoint the problem with Stormy.  Unfortunately, by that time we did not have any money left, the economy had dipped, we lost our jobs, and couldn't afford the surgery.

Well, the doctor told us that she would be OK in a diaper and she could live like that.  However, he did not anticipate the constant  UTI's that wouldn't heal or the fact that her kidney would be basically damaged beyond repair.  Now, we need help getting her the surgery she needs.  We have found a doctor that will do the surgery.

*sidenote*  Yes, we did report the man selling the dogs to both the authorities and our vet office and anyone else who would listen.  He then changed his number and refused to contact anyone about the dogs.  I do not know what became of him or his breeding. He was reported to the ASPCA and law enforcement by several people.

Any amount of donation, even one dollar can help Stormy reach her goal!
