Zebs Full Recovery

Donation protected

On May 22nd Zeb Reynolds spent six hours alone in the ER without people who love him knowing he was there. After running the plates of Zeb's motorcycle the HBPD were finally able to contact a family friend. She in turn called both Zeb's sister and dad to break the news to them. Zeb had been in a motorcycle accident. He had been riding his motorcycle back to work at HB Harley Davidson after dropping off his girlfriend on his lunch hour. While going through a green light at the intersection of Newland and Ellis in Huntington Beach, CA a pickup truck struck him while making a left turn. Zeb and his bike ended up underneath the truck. Zeb died on the scene but good Samaritans  preformed CPR on him, he was revived, and he was taken to the UCI in Orange where he reminded unidentified for six hours due to first responders being unable to locate his wallet in the wreckage of the accident.

After receiving the news Zeb's sister left straight from work to go to the hospital and his Dad arrived soon after. While Zeb was in surgery they learned that he had suffered life threatening injures. He lost skin and muscle tissue on his left calf. He received compound fractures to his left tibia and femur. His pelvis was fractured. His kidney and liver where lacerated. Ribs were broken and a lung collapsed. His face was fractured. Worst of all he received a traumatic brain injury. The right side of his skull was fractured. His brain was swelling so much that they had to remove the majority of the right side of his skull to relieve the pressure but they were not able to remove it before there was tissue death. 10% of Zeb's frontal temporal lobe had to be removed to save his life. He made it through the surgeries and they were able to stabilize him but since that day he has been in a coma.

Since May 22nd Zeb has been in this coma. Since the moment he was hit by that truck he has been fighting for his life. He has been fighting through surgeries, fevers, infections, moving hospitals, and so much more. His dad and sister have been with him every step of the way. Supporting Zeb and his family have been other family and friends. Zeb has “an army of love” behind him as his sister puts it. With all of this support Zeb has been making wonderful progress. While he is still in a coma he is starting to get more responsive everyday but we still do not know when he will wake up. Even when he does it will be a long time before he is able to work again or even have his life back to normal. He has a long hard road of recovery ahead of him. He is going to need all the love and support he can get. Truly every little bit helps. Thank you so much to all of you who have already donated and to those of you who will. Your generosity, support, love, and prayers are humbling and greatly appreciated. His family is truly grateful.
