Ashley Meehan's Bucket List Trip

Walking into Lil Whipper Snippers for my first child’s haircut, I was a bit nervous and anxious for my 1 year olds haircut. As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted with the warmest, kindest smile and a cheerful hello. As my son melted down, Ashley’s true talents of compassion and her way with kids shone through. Her patience was unending as she truly wanted to do the best job and make my son feel safe, comfortable, and happy. Over the course of the next 3 years we experienced these qualities unceasingly. We moved to Bismarck, and I made myself bring my 3 kids to someone else. It was such a let down after experiencing the best, so we started making the drive to be able to continue to see Ashley. It is this appreciation for her, and knowing I am not the only person with these positive experience that compelled me to start this fundraiser for this amazing woman. 

Ashley’s passion became her business and she was definitely a valuable part of our community.  As a community we now have the opportunity to help her in experiencing another passion of hers...going on a bucket list trip while she so courageously battles Stage IV Metastatic breast cancer. Through all of the treatment and bad news, Ashley has remained positive and a source of light in others’ lives. It would be great to support her by helping her have a fun experience to look forward to and focus on that she would not otherwise have the opportunity to. 

According to her July 30, 2019 Caring Bridge update:

“I unfortunately was given worsening news yesterday. My current chemotherapy is no longer working. My lung mets have grown. I have several new signs of metastatic disease all throughout my neck, clavicle, chest, and surrounding lymph nodes. There is also a spot near my kidney. I did a brain MRI this morning as well I'm devastated right now and lost for words ”
