Let's Help Liz
Anyone that knows Liz knows that she is fearless and a strong woman. She immediately put her fighter hat on to battle and as we say "Kick cancers butt." But as we all know along with cancer comes many expenses. Liz and her family are trying to pull together to make ends meet. As her friend I will do anything to help, but I know there are many people who love and care for her as much as I do.
Any little bit counts....
It has been a while since I have posted an update and many of you have been asking how Liz is doing.
So she is officially done with Chemo treatment just taking the chemo pills. Started her radiation which has not been easy at all. Good news is she almost done!! Couple more weeks and she is done with radiation. After that she will see her oncologist as a follow up to see how the tumor is looking. If the doctors feel its not where it should be then they will have to consider another surgery.
The road has been long and extremely tiring for Liz and her family. But they are more than half way done with this journey. Please keep her in your prayers that rest of this journey is as smooth as can be!!
Thank you all for you support and hope to see you all there at the end to celebrate!!!
It has been a while since I have posted an update on Liz and a lot has happen since my last post so decided to update her troop!!
For starters thank you for all of the continuous prayers especially during her surgery. Many people reached out just to check in and send their well wishes. Surgery was a success doctors were very happy with the results. I went to see Liz while on recovery and typical Liz; she was a total trooper. Getting up, make up as fab as always and just in good spirits. Left her house feeling so happy just seeing her doing so good yet again proving she is kicking cancer's butt! We sat there like the good old days just chit chatting about life, laughing about random stories and catching each other up on our boys.
Like anyone going through cancer or any illness they are good days and bad days. Liz has had her share of both, but always looking at the positive in a situation. Today she had a doctors visit the plan is: five more rounds of chemo then they will start radiation after for six weeks. She will be going in to get the port back to get started on chemo. Its been an exhausting journey but in the end it will all be worth. Please continue to pray for Liz and her family to help them continue fighting!!!
Thank you again for all of your support. We still cannot believe we have gotten this far in our goal.
It's been a while since I posted an updated. A lot has been going on with Liz so figured I'd keep her army in the loop. So first everyone warned this would be a hell of a ride and quiet the roller coaster. This past week alone has been a rough one for Liz many ups and downs...
Scan showed a blood clot on Liz's port. So doctors had to put her on blood thinners which caused her to hemorrhage. Iron dropped extremely low so now the plan is to remove her port on Tuesday and everyday next week she will be going in to get iron. Hopefully this will get things back on track!
Doctors also told Liz this week her colon was so damaged they would have to remove and replace for a bag. Something that was really upsetting to Liz. She is already going through so much and now a life changing procedure. But thankfully doctors had a conference and decided to try radiation and chemo!! We could not be more excited about the news....just something good!!!
As for her Liver doctors will be doing surgery on June 2 (keep your fingers and toes crossed) to remove 15% to 20% of the liver. Doctors mentioned how this was not as bad as it sounds. Again something good to hear!!
Overall, this week was an emotional roller coaster. But we are glad we are back on track with a plan to tackle this. Thank you to each and everyone of for your donations and especially your prayers!! The roller coaster doesn't end here we are all on this ride with you Liz. It won't be easy but at the end the fight will be worth it.
Please continue to share with everyone and to pray for Liz that her surgery goes as smoothly and painless as possible.
Liz is doing AMAZING!!! I seriously admire her so much more now for the courage and fighter in her. I mean we all know she was tough but this fight has made her tougher and just her “I got this” attitude is truly something admirable. Liz has a CAT SCAN scheduled on May 6 and will be going to the doctor on May 10 to see what the next step is for her. She recently got amazing news her cancer was at an 11 from a 65!!! We were so excited to hear that and just pumped to see the chemo was working!!!
Let’s all keep her in our prayers for her doctor’s appointment just hope nothing but more good news for Liz. XOXO
