Carter “Danger” Mills was born on December 30, 1999 in Tampa Florida to proud parents David Mills of Pembroke Pines, Florida and Lisa Mills of Jacksonville, Florida. He was a loving big brother to Clay and Caroline. Carter left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on April 19, 2017 with his parents and siblings by his side.

Carter is survived by his parents, David and Lisa Mills; his brother Clay and sister Caroline; grandparents Jim and Shirley Mills of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Lynn and Todd Ross of Jacksonville, Florida; great grandmother, Dora Maniscalco of Palm Beach, Florida; aunts and uncles Chris and Leyra Mills of Nicaragua, Denise Mills of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Chad and Stephanie Sawicki of Mendham, New Jersey, Ward and Suzanne Williams of Alabaster, Alabama; cousins Julianne, Christianne, and Grayson Mills, Camden, Abigail, and Annie Kate Sawicki, and Tate, Carson, and Sarah Paige Williams; doting dogs Juliet and Charlie; and many close friends from the states of North Carolina, New Jersey, and Florida.

Carter lived the first thirteen years of his life in Tampa, Florida. In 2013, he moved with his family to Mendham, New Jersey and then recently moved to Mooresville, North Carolina in August 2016 where he attended Lake Norman High School.

Carter was an actor, writer, and comedian. He loved mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and fishing. Carter was caring and compassionate, a great listener and friend. Carter planned to attend college and then become a writer and live in a tiny house. His love for adventure and experiences far outweighed his desire for material possessions or accomplishments. He loved to make people laugh and smile, was truly a special light in this world.

A memorial fund, Restoring Hope, has been established in Carter’s honor with the purpose to help fund and grow programs like Capstone Treatment Center, that strive to treat the pain many teens struggle with by “healing the past, embracing the present, and redeeming the future”. Details on how to give will be provided at the memorial service.

We will gather to celebrate Carter’s life and offer comfort to one another during a memorial service at The Cove Church, 197 Langtree Rd, Mooresville, NC on April 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the church for family and friends to share favorite memories of Carter and support one another in love.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the Mills family. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
