Marine Biology for Science Classes

Donation protected
At Grandview Preparatory, a non-profit school in Boca Raton, the Middle School students are involved in creating a  student-led, passion-based project. Through this process, students are  encouraged to explore their own learning interests and consider projects outside of the traditional classroom environment. With the support of master-teacher facilitators, the students are solely responsible for building advanced academic projects and executing the objectives and goals.

This year, students in the MS Innovation program have chosen to focus their efforts on including Marine Biology resource centers and fish tanks in each of their science classes in sixth through eighth grade.

The MS Innovation students believe that this would be a good addition to the Grandview Preparatory School campus. Fish tanks would be educational as students would have the opportunity to learn math, science, english, as well as several character traits such as responsibility, unity, selflessness, and hard work. The fish tanks would teach responsibility, as students would be in charge of maintaining and feeding the fish. The students would need to unite together in order to make the tank run and would teach the students hard work as they would need to work diligently to keep the tank clean and to keep the fish healthy.
