Zayden s Fairytale

When Mildred and Cristian found out they were expecting , they were soo excited!! They couldn’t wait to hold Zayden in their arms , and one day hear him call them mommy and daddy.
Shortly after birth , Zayden started to have feeding troubles. When brought in for a check up , the doctor heard a murmur , although this is usually benign he sent him to the cardiologist to further evaluate.
That day change their entire world....

Zayden was quickly sent to Boston with a diagnosis of dilated cardiomyopathy(he was in heart failure). Due to also being born with a rare brain disorder (agensis of the corpus callosum where there is an absence of the white matter connecting the two hemispheres  ) Zayden would not be eligible for the heart transplant he so desperately needs. 
Still more bad news came....
After seeing the best doctors in Boston , and genetics they had a diagnosis.

Vici Syndrome 
Vici syndrome is a very rare and severe congenital multi system disorder there is only about 100 known cases world wide! It is characterized by the principal features of agenesis of the corpus callosum, cataracts, oculocutaneous hypopigmentation, cardiomyopathy and combined immunodeficiency. Zayden is also anemic and requires frequent blood transfusions. Children with this syndrome do not live past the age of 5 yrs old. 

This quickly shattered the hearts of everyone in Zaydens life. To learn they don’t know how long they have. 
His mother Mildred stays by his side day and night in Boston caring for his every need. Whether that is feeds through his ng tube or cuddles from a long hard day. She never leaves his side. Zayden is constantly in and out of Hasbro and Boston Childrens Hospital his admissions are never short.  His father Cris sacrifices not being able to always be with his baby side. He works countless hours days and nights to try to keep them a float. No parents should ever have to go through this or make the choices and sacrifices they’ve had to make. His Mommy and Daddy are so  heartbroken but want to give him the best life they can! To let him live the fairytale that he so deserves!
