As a newborn bub of 14 weeks of age, beautiful little Zara underwent open heart surgery to repair a heart defect. Then 4 years later, her family received the devastating news that she was to battle leukaemia. She fought bravely and after two years of treatment and chemotherapy, Zara was given the all clear.
Mid-June, at 8 years old, Zara and her family were given the heartbreaking and shocking news that the leukaemia had relapsed.
Zara will fight again!!! Her treatment will begin over the coming weeks in Brisbane.
We need your help to raise much needed expense money** for her mum & dad - Shannon & Josh. Their strength and bravery is truly inspiring. They are amazing parents to Zara, Annika and Arlen and they could really use our help.
We would like travel expenses and day to day living expenses not to be an added stress for Zara's family and are asking for your consideration in donating to this fund to help out.

Zara is a very special little girl. She touches the heart and soul of all who she meets, with a gorgeous smile and personality filled with sass and kindness, she's one in a million! Born with Down Syndrome, her battle against leukaemia will be hard and long. Children with Down Syndrome are unable to tolerate the high level chemo therapy doses that a typical child may be able to endure, especially for a relapse. Her oncologist is working on a treatment plan and she will begin treatment in July 2019.
