Zan Hailey Memorial Fund

We are all in shock and disbelief of the tragic loss of Alexandra (Zan) Delaine Hailey,  one of the most vibrant, passionate and selfless people the world has ever seen, at the young age of 26.

On October 31, 2018, in the late afternoon, the world lost  Alexandra (Zan) Delaine Hailey very suddenly in a tragic car accident while traveling for work in Paducah, Kentucky.

Zan was a poet, an artist, and an intellect. Lighting up every room she entered, her extreme selflessness towards others will always be remembered. In any situation of struggle or despair, Zan would always be there to help. Whether you needed to load a moving truck within hours, needed a ride to work, or were stranded in the middle of the desert, all it took was one call and Zan would be on her way.

Zan was truly a one of a kind human being and she will me missed greatly by her family and extremely supportive friends.

The viewing is planned to take place on Tuesday, November, 6 in Woodbridge with a funeral service  on Wednesday. More details will be posted shortly.

My name is Neil Hailey, Zan’s brother. Zan is not only my sister but my best friend. Never more than a call away, Zan has been there for me my entire life. It’s hard to come to accept something so seemingly surreal  as this, but I believe Zan would want her life to be celebrated with the same sense of exuberance and passion that she shared with the world each and every day.

I am starting the campaign to cover some of the costs associated with the funeral and memorial service for Alexandra. Please do not feel obligated to make a donation, however, any contribution on any level will be greatly appreciated.

In addition to offsetting funeral and memorial service costs, I  would like to celebrate Zan’s life in a slightly less conventional by honoring some of the activities she was so passionate about. Any contributions  not used to cover funeral expenses will go directly towards a fund dedicated to honor Zan and her passions. This fund will help support events such as a memorial concert and other art/writing related events.

Again, any contribution to Zan’s fund will be greatly appreciated.

Alexandra recently referred to Abraham Lincoln’s quote which sums up her fierce passion quite well , “And in the end it's not the years in your life that count; it's the life in your years.”

Let’s try to celebrate the life in Zan’s years as much as possible rather than reflect on the short number of years in her life.
