In the past few years I've been raising funds for 24 Hours of Booty, an annual cycling event in Charlotte supporting cancer survivorship and navigation programs.

On March 21st, 2016 my only nephew Zachary Catalano was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia.  I never expected for him (or my family) to need these services.  I'm grateful for the care and support my family has received so far from Nemour's Children`s Hospital in Orlando.

Zac's case is treatable and we are just at the beginning of this journey.  My sister and her husband are blessed with healthcare coverage for Zac, but it is a long journey with years of maintenance treatment.

The medical bills are already coming in and the goal of this campaign is to cover Zac's maximum out of pocket insurance expenses for the next few years and help with all the unexpected things that will come his way.

Any contribution is greatly appreciated.  Please feel free to reach out to me privately if you have any questions.

Happy New Year! Zac remained in remission during 2017 and we hope it continues in 2018. Attached are a couple of photos from Christmas and his birthday in October. Zac started 2018 with a fever on NYE and had a trip to the Neumor's children's emergency room to get checked out. He had his blood tested and received some antibiotics, but was able to go home the same evening. He tested positive for the RSV virus. Lisa and Mike are monitoring him at home to make sure the fever doesn't get worse.

He continues in his treatments and has monthly visits to the hospital.

Best wishes to you and your family in 2018 and thanks for your continued support of Mike, Lisa, and Zac!

Here is an update on Zac... March 21, 2017 marked one year since Zac's diagnosis. Zac is still in remission and continues his maintenance treatments.

On Tuesday Zac had a CT scan to check the status of the nodule that was found on his lung in November. The nodule on his lung is still present but has reduced in size from 5 mm to 3 mm since his last scan in January. We were hoping for it to be gone but a reduction is definitely an improvement so we are happy about that.
Zac has bloodwork on Friday to prepare for a spinal on Monday so we will be able to discuss the results in more detail at that time.

Zac has a new buddy! Lisa and Mike brought Nola, a golden doodle, into their family last month. Zac loves Nola and she is a great companion for him.

Thanks again for all of your support. <3

A note to say thank you again to everyone. I was able to visit Zac, Mike and Lisa for Christmas. Zac has entered the maintenance phase of his treatment in mid-December. During the holiday he was able to spend more time out in public. On 12/27 he had another CT scan to monitor the spot in his lung, while it has decreased in size it is not eliminated and very concerning. He is still taking the fungal medication and is being monitored closely. He will have another scan on 1/10. He will still need a lot of medical care in the upcoming year, but grateful that we all were able spend the holidays together at home.

Please pray that Zac stays in remission and that his lung infection can be resolved. Mike and Lisa appreciate all your support.

In the month of Thanksgiving our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who donated or otherwise supported Zac, Mike and Lisa during this difficult year. We could not have gotten this far without your generosity, support and prayers. So thank you and we hope you enjoyed the holiday with your friends and family!

Zac was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving and was able to enjoy the holiday at home. We are still waiting on some blood test results to see if he has any type of fungal infection which would need to be treated. A small spot on his lung was identified during a scan before he was discharged but a specialist wasn't sure it was a fungal infection. He also has one chemotherapy session left before he would enter next phase of his treatment.
