Award-winning, international comedy duo Zach & Viggo take their debut show Thunderflop to Edinburgh for the world's largest international arts festival - and we need your help!

Who are we?
Zach Zucker, Viggo Venn, and Jonny Woolley (Director) became best friends while studying at École Philippe Gaulier, a world-famous clown school in France. 

We've been traveling the world together for the past two years, creating and touring original comedy shows. So far we've played in over 15 countries across 3 continents and would love nothing more than to continue adding to that list. 

Collectively we have sold out shows and won awards in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, London, Berlin, Oslo, Copenahgen, Amsterdam, Prague, Brighton, Adelaide and Melbourne among others. We got a glowing review from Steve Bennett of Chortle and have been feautred in The Guardian  and The Chicago Tribune .

How did we get here?
This may come as a surprise, but it's really difficult to make money as touring artists in places we’ve never been before.

The great thing about performing on the festival circuit is that it gives up-and-coming artists an opportunity to perform. However, because these established venues are taking a risk on new acts, most will set high guarantees (about 60% of total possible income) along with taking 40% of all ticket sales, making it virutally impossible for artists to break even until they've reached a certain level of success. 

We've done EVERYTHING in our power to save as much money as possible - we've opted to take twenty-hour bus journeys instead of two-hour flights, spent hours going through international tax and visa forms rather than paying a professional to do it, and have shared a bed between the three of us every time we travel (though that one is by choice).

Along the way we've fought through bed bugs, stolen costumes and props, fines for purchasing the wrong train ticket in foreign countries, and much more. We love touring, but it isn’t easy, especially when trying to balance the costs of travel, accommodation, and food. By helping to cover some of these costs, you make touring a much more sustainable option for us and ensure many more years of fun around the world.

Most people spend around £1,500 on digital and print advertising during the Fringe. Unfortunately we don't have enough money in our budget for any of this but if we meet our goal it's possible!
