We are honored to offer up an opportunity to support Zach in his recovery of a benign brain tumor surgery. Many of his friends and relatives, near and far, have asked if they can help. We believe this is the best way to show your support. He will have a long recovery process and will not be able to drive for at least 3 months. This will obviously make it hard for him to work.
Most of you know the story by now, but for those who are not familiar with the details, here is how this emergency brain surgery came to be.
Zach had been suffering from severe migraine headaches for several months and we believed along with a family doctor that they might be due to stress. Zach was trying to fight through the headaches and tough them out, but they started to become increasingly more debilitating.
On the 4th of July, Zach experienced another one and was taken to the hospital to have it treated and find out exactly what was going on.
It was revealed through CT Scan and MRI that he had a very large tumor on his brain. Immediate surgery was recommended. Friday, July 5th he went under the knife to remove an expansive mass that had been creating an immense amount of pressure on his brain. The surgeon and doctors reported that 99% of the tumor has been removed and that is was benign. It was a Class 1 meningioma tumor and is not cancerous. Thanks be to God!!
Zach will make a full recovery and be a healthy young adult once again. We are all so thankful to all of the doctors and nurses at Abbott Northwestern for helping Zach overcome this. God was watching over all of us.
Zach lives in Minneapolis with his girlfriend, Chloe, and they have a new rescue puppy named Nala who also has some health issues.
They are going to have a large amount of medical bills. They are also going to be short one partner's income during this time of recovery. People have been so helpful and kind already.
