Amy Russo Medical Care Fund
Donation protected
My sweet sister, Amy Russo, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I am raising money to help cover medical expenses and out-of-work expenses for Amy and her family.
Amy was going about her normal routine being a loving and caring wife and friend, teaching 4th grade, and parenting her 1 year-old daughter and her 2 year-old, son until Friday, October 26, 2018. On that day, she and her husband heard that she has grade 3, triple negative, breast cancer. Because this is an aggressive form of breast cancer and can be harder to treat, she starts chemotherapy this week and has been told that she can expect 8 rounds of chemotherapy over the next 16 weeks. Depending on her response to the chemotherapy, she will have surgery and removal after that.
As I mentioned, Amy is a teacher and so is her husband, Matt. There has not been any time to prepare for what is happening. The doctors are recommending that Amy does not work during the chemotherapy which will put a financial strain on their family by itself, not to mention the medical expenses. Amy and Matt have insurance, but within 4 days of diagnosis, they are already shocked at the medical expenses they have paid related to visits, testing, and procedures.
Any amount of money will help and would be greatly appreciated. Please share this far and wide and please consider donating.
Thank you,
Amy's big sister,
Kim
