Help me help my best friend
Kenzie is my very first dog, and I fell in love with her when she was 2 days old. Our bond has only grown over the past 8 and a half years and she is my heart. She has been there for me through my undergrad, and graduate and everything in between. She had a freak accident playing with her brother and got a deep laceration on her back leg. She needed to get stitches and the procedure ended up costing $488. I'm working on my masters program for mental health counseling and am currently in my internship. This has led me to work at my paying job much less while I work towards my degree. Needless to say, funds have been beyond tight and if this wound got infected (by the way it was cut it would have been a pool for infection) I had to do what I had to do and take care of my best friend like she had done for me the last 8+ years. It's important to know when to ask for help, when your in over your head, for the sake of your own mental health. I ask for anything you can offer in this holiday season, I know times are tough with the holidays. I thank anyone who is able to spare a dollar, or well wishes for a speedy recovery. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and I thank you all for keeping my daughter, my best friend, my heart in your thoughts and prayers.+ Read More
After giving it much thought and with the encouragement of you all as donors, anything over the allotted goal will be put towards an insurance policy for my babies. I've decided to use the money I usually put asidemonthly for banfield to instead go towards a monthly insurance policy fee. I really can't thank you all enough, I'm still in shock at the support I received from you all. I literally could not have done this without you!
I'm in absolute shock at the outpouring of support I've received for my baby girl! I've not only reached my goal, but surpassed it! I do not intend to just pocket the money that is over the goal, I'm considering either donating it to paws2help because they were so awesome with cost affordable services and as a nonprofit I'm sure they could use the donation to continue to help people like me in the future OR as some have suggested, setting up an emergency fund or investing it in insurance so I don't run into this situation again (I do have two aussies, so anything can happen). Regardless it will be put to good use and not just into my pocket! I am so thankful for every single one of you and your generosity! Kenzie is doing much better and I will update you on her progress!
Kenzie is recovering from surgery and the total cost is only 295! Thank God for paws2help! I appreciate all the support during this difficult time, words don't do my appreciation justice! And it so relieving seeing my girl on the mend!
