In Loving Memory of Anne Margaret Fischer
9/30/1936 - 7/5/2019
Family and friends of Anne “Peggy” Fischer have started a GoFundMe campaign to endow a gift in her honor to the Cleary School of the Deaf in Nesconset, NY. Peggy had so much to be proud of in her life. Born in 1936 during the Great Depression, Peg endured many of the struggles that made her a part of what would become known as the "Greatest Generation". As an adult, Peggy became a single mother of six children during a time that is very different than the one we live in now. Eventually, her course in life would lead her to employment at Cleary School for the Deaf. With both humility and perseverance, Peggy became a survivor and a source of strength for many others who were experiencing challenges similar to her own. Peggy held many positions during her tenure at the Cleary School, but the most important role she played was being a friend and contributor to the success of children. With the exception of being a Mother and Grandmother, Peggy’s contributions at the Cleary School for the Deaf would become her biggest source of pride. We are so proud of Pegs accomplishments and ask you to contribute to her legacy.
Cleary School for the deaf is a private, state supported program that has served the community of Long Island since 1926. It is one of three schools for the deaf on Long Island. The enrollment at Cleary has continued to blossom and increase without an increase in funding. Currently, there are 20 families on a waiting list due to insufficient funds. Our goal is to raise enough money to grant a scholarship to as many families as possible in Anne Margaret Fischer's name.
Cleary School provides a nurturing environment where the individual needs of students are identified and addressed by an entire team. We provide a safe and secure environment in which students are physically secure, emotionally supported and treated as individual learners with unique needs. We are committed to the ongoing development of our abilities to meet the changing and diverse needs of our students and to support their families.
Please help to honor the life of a truly selfless women in continuing her life's work
Thank you all!!!
