Service Dog for Leah
Donation protected
Hi, we're the Raaks, and we're raising money to help cover the costs of a service dog for our daughter Leah.
Leah is our beautiful three-year-old girl, and in the last year she has been diagnosed with Autism and Epilepsy. We've decided to go through a wonderful, local organization called Arizona Goldens, who train golden retrievers. The total cost for the dog and 4-6 months of training is $21,800. The dog will be trained to help with both disabilities.
Here are just a few of the ways service dogs can help:
1. Siezure detection and alerting parents
2. Prevent wandering. (Children with autism often wander with no sense of danger or awareness, leading to tragic accidents)
3. Help overcome meltdowns and sensory overload
4. Sleep. Service dogs provide children with autism a sense of stability and security,
5. Friendship, play, and excercise
This is truly an amazing way to improve Leah's quality of life, and hopefully development. We hope to raise enough money to cover the costs in the next 6-12 months.
Thank you so much for your support!
Your donations and support for our family mean more than words could ever express.
