This page was originally intended to raise money for my 18 year old cousin diagnosed with leukaemia on March 13th 2019. The plan was to raise money to get treatment in India or Turkey please see the updates section to follow his story.
On Thursday 21st March 2019 Mohamud passed away in Mogadishu. Inna lilahi waa inna ilayhi rajioon (to Allah we belong and to him we return) Please make Duaa for him, May Allah swt grant him Jannatul Fardous (heaven) widen his grave and provide comfort for him in his final resting place Ameen ya rab. ❤️
Thank you to everyone that helped and donated over the last 5 days, the Duaas and the amount of effort everyone put in was so overwhelming. Everyone has a time when they will leave this world no matter age, money or status. Death is one thing guaranteed for us all and this is what we should remind ourselves not only at the time of grief but on a daily basis.
Moving forward, I will now continue fundraising to build a well in Somalia for his Sadaqah Jariyah. For those not familiar with this Islamic term, this means a form of charity which is continuous and ongoing even after death. Building a well will benefit the recipients more than once and that good deed will continue rewarding Mohamud in the hereafter Ins sha Allah.
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. (Muslim)
