APT goes to NYC

Hi, we are APT. We are a Hip Hop Dance company based out of the Westlake School for the Performing Arts in Daly City, CA, and are also the junior team of the world-renowned group The Company.
 
On March 5th we competed at the New York City Dance Alliance Regional in Santa Clara performing a piece to Unsteady by the X Ambassadors (please watch the video). This piece means a lot to us because it allows us to tell our stories on stage. As a result, we received the Overall High Score in the Senior Division, Senior Critics’ Choice, as well as the opportunity to have an encore performance as the Judges’ Pick! We are very excited at the chance to compete at Nationals but unfortunately, New York is incredibly expensive (for a group of over 30) and we would want nothing more than the opportunity to perform this again. The money raised will be used to cover hotel rooms and administrative fees associated with competing.

Dance is not just something we do. APT is not just a dance group, it has become a way for us to grow together as a family, to build strong work ethic, and find something that we are passionate about.
