My Dad's Funeral and Memorial fund

Hey guys!

Thank you so much for the support and concern for my family. I'm not one to ever ask for donations or help, but my father's death came very suddenly and on the eve of my paren't wedding anniversary - The Doctors has diagnosed his death as a cardiac arrest.

My dad has always been one to help people whether he had something in his pocket or nothing at all. He was born April 3rd 1940 in the middle of World War II. At that time, Philippines had been raided by many Japanese soldiers causing my infant father, and his family to seek refuge in caves and forests. It wasn't until my father was 5 years old that the war ended and that he finally got to play outside like what a normal 5 year old would do.
In his early teens, my father's favorite thing to do was go to the beach - what else would you do in the Philippines? On his way to the beach, he heard a hymnal coming from one of the church - "What can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of jesus". He was so enamored by this that instead of playing in his free time, he decided to start going to church and learning more about the bible. Eventually, he got saved and baptized. This angered my Grandmother, who was not fond with my father's new faith, so she threw the bible at him and kicked him out of the house. My father ended up being helped and supported by local churches in the Philippines and was even assisted by American missionaries on going overseas to move to America. Now, moving to America in the 1960s from the Philippines was unthinkable so this was a blessing from God. Years passed and my father finally wrote to my Grandparents of his new location and the blessings he's received. This made my Grandma become a believer as well. My father started churches all over America and even had an orphanage back in the Philippines. At a young age, my dad has always taught me to give back to the less fortunate and to never be ashamed of being a Christian. I can't thank him enough for all he's taught me.

Dad I miss you an my only regret is that I never got to say goodbye to you. I don't even remember our last conversation together.

Again, thank you so much everyone for all the help and support. God bless!
