Caring for Caitlyn

Caitlyn Moore is 13 years old, by the grace of God and the unconditional love and care from her family she has lived a much longer life then Drs. expected.  

The Moore family is now experiencing something no one should ever have to face,  setting up hospice care for their sweet daughter.  The medical bills are extraordinary, the last thing they need to be concerned about.

This is a post I am sharing from Caitlyn’s mom, Wendy:

June 29th Caitlyn went back into the hospital and unfortunately the FSGS is progressing so much faster than any of us could have calculated. Her creatinine numbers jumped an entire point in five days.

This has been, by far, the most excruciating and devastating experience we have had to go through and I pray we never have this kind of pain again.

We came home Monday from the hospital and home hospice has been put into place. The doctors have told us we may have weeks or we may have days.

We are trying to appreciate each day we now get and she has had a couple good days. I am trying hard to face this with strength, bravery and grace and am fairly sure I’m failing daily in doing so. Like I said in my last post, there certainly is no guidebook and I so wish this were easier and really that it wasn’t happening at all.

I am so eternally grateful or the family and friends who have come to help and comfort us during this tragic time.

For anyone who does want to visit her before she goes back to be in the arms of Jesus, please just let us know. We appreciate prayers still for a miracle and for peace in our hearts.
