Katie’s road to recovery

After spending the holidays in the ICU for a ruptured appendix, and an infection that nearly lead to the removal of portions of her stomach, intestines and colon, Katie is finally on the mend. But as she heads home after more than a week in the hospital, she now faces a lengthy recovery and will be unable to return to work for several weeks.
